Einführung in das englische Recht is a course designed to introduce students to the main aspects of the English Legal System and English Law. The course focuses on some of the following topics: the general characteristics of the English legal system, the meaning of equity, the administration of justice and the English court system, the sources of law – including both statute and the relevance and operation of case law, and the organisation of the legal profession. The course also deals with substantive areas of law including Constitutional Law and Contract Law.

Teilnahmevoraussetzungen

The course is suitable for students with a good understanding of the English language and it is recommended that students take at least Rechtsenglisch I and II prior to taking this course in order to learn the required legal terminology. There is no set text for this course.
