Autonomous Systems and the Law
Conference "First European Conference on Autonomous Systems and the Law" in Berlin on 02 Nov. 2012
On the second of November 2012, a workshop on "AUTONOMICS- New generations of autonomous, simulation- based systems challenging legal framework conditions. An international comparison." took place. This workshop focussed on the challenges of the development and use of autonomous and automated systems. In various very interesting and informative presentations on numerous aspects of the discussion on autonomous systems, many core problems were addressed. The problem areas highlighted were addressed in subsequent discussions and the concluding panel discussion. The key question was: What are the sociological, cultural, ethical and legal challenges associated with the use of autonomous technology and what could appropriate solutions look like?
