Panel discussion: Film Plug & Pray

On 5 July 2011 at 18:00, Lecture Hall I in the Faculty of Law (Domerschulstraße 16, 97070 Würzburg) will be transformed into a cinema. The documentary film Plug & Pray. The event is open to the public, admission is free! The film will be followed by a panel discussion.

As part of the DFG project "Robotics and Law" at the chairs of Prof. Dr. Dr. Hilgendorf and Prof. Dr. Schilling at the University of Würzburg, the documentary film "Plug & Pray" by German director Jens Schanze will be shown on 5 July 2011 at 18:00 in Lecture Hall I of the Faculty of Law (Domerschulstraße 16, 97070 Würzburg). The film deals with the possibilities and limits of the development of artificial intelligence and robotics. The film focuses on the debate between scientists Joseph Weizenbaum, Raymond Kurzweil and Hiroshi Ishiguro on the question of whether humans can be replaced by autonomous robots. "Plug & Pray" won the Bavarian Film Award 2010 in the "Documentary Film" category, among others.

Following the film, Dr Susanne Beck, LL.M; Jan-Philipp Günther, European lawyer from the Faculty of Law and Prof. Dr Klaus Schilling and Dipl.-Inform. Daniel Eck from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science will be available for a discussion with the audience.
