Löffler

Dr. Severin Löffler

Among other issues, Dr. Löffler’s work has dealt with the legal problems associated with the increasing use of unmanned air systems (UAS/UAV) until the end of January 2021 at the Forschungsstelle RobotRecht. His doctoral dissertation examined the military and civil use of flying robots, i.e. so-called "drones", from a criminal law perspective. His research placed particular emphasis on the legality of "targeted-killing" via unmanned air systems and on the issue of criminal liability for image recordings made by drones for the civilian sector. Since 2018, he has also been in private practice as a solicitor. A selection of his publications is available here
