Symposium: People - Law - Digitalization

09/23/2021

Prof. Dr. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf and the RobotLaw Research Unit cordially invite you to the symposium "People - Law - Digitalization" on the 8th of October 2021. The symposium is the result of a cooperation between the University of Würzburg and the Bamberg Higher Regional Court.

In two working groups chaired by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Bamberg, Lothar Schmitt, and Prof. Dr. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf, judges, notaries, and researchers from the University of Würzburg will get to the bottom of the question of digitalization possibilities in the judiciary.

In addition to the legal and ethical aspects of judicial digitalization, concrete possible applications of artificial intelligence in the judiciary will also be discussed. Not only through the interdisciplinary inclusion of psychology, computer science and communication sciences, the two working groups were able to develop interesting approaches, which will be presented at the symposium.

The symposium will take place from 9 a.m. in the Neubaukirche of the "Alte Universität" and offers, in addition to lectures and a panel discussion, the possibility of personal exchange at the subsequent reception. Thanks to the kind support of the "Juristen Alumni", refreshments will also be provided.
