On 4 & 5 July 2019, the first Malaysian-German Symposium on Competition Law will take place at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The event is jointly organised by the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC), the chair of Professor Dr. Florian Bien (University of Würzburg) and the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC). Speakers from each organisation will present and discuss current topics regarding Malaysian, German and European Competition Law, in particular:
- Development of Competition Law in Malaysia (Hany Azreen Shamsiruddin, MyCC)
- Admissibility of Selective Distribution Systems in e-Commerce under European Competition Law (Moritz Fischer, University of Würzburg)
- Decisions Regarding Infringements of the Prohibition on Restrictive and Abusive Practices (Dr. Björn Becker, University of Würzburg)
- Leniency Programmes in International Cartel Cases (Argyro Triantafyllou, University of Würzburg)
- Merger Remedies in Germany and France (Markus Welzenbach, University of Würzburg)
- Competition Law Risks for German Enterprises on the Malaysian Markets (Dr. Eva Langerbeck, MGCC)
- The Implementation of Competition Law Compliance Programmes for Chambers and Industry Associations (Dr. Björn Becker, MGCC)
