Module Course of Study - Summer 2021

Summer Studies on European Law from 20th to 24th September 2021

The Law Faculty of Würzburg, Germany, welcomes law students and young professionals from all over the world to our program presented by  Prof. Dr. Eckhard Pache. Participants are invited to expand their knowledge of European Law. The first 50 applicants will be granted scholarships of 200 Euro after enrollment and participation. All enrolled participants will be awarded 2 ECTS points.

The program will take place from Monday, 20th to Friday, 24th September 2021 online via Zoom.

The aim of the program is to gain insight into current developments in the law of both the EU and the Member States and to discuss new research questions.
The international group of participants will attend lectures and workshops on European Law which will be held in English.

Lectures will cover the following topics:

  • Recent Developments in European Law
  • Introduction to European Constitutional Law
  • European Judicial System
  • Protection of Fundamental Rights in the European Union
  • Lacking Respect for the European Values (Art. 2 TEU)
  • European Single Market
  • European Competition Law
  • European Company Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • European Data Protection Law
  • Introduction to German Culture

Additional workshops will give participants the opportunity for intellectual exchange. They will also gain international communication skills by working in small group projects with students from other nations.

 

Workshops will cover the following topics:

  • Procurement Law
  • Private International Law
  • Data Protection Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • International Criminal Law

Participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance (2 ECTS points).

Financial expense

As a participant of the module course you will have to bear the following costs:

  • Tuition fee of 142,70 €

 

Scholarship

The first 50 applicants will be granted scholarships of 200 Euro each after enrollment and participation.

In order to apply to the course you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • you have no difficulties in following lectures in the English language
  • you are/ have been a law student or have/ had a profession that is connected to European Law
  • you have obtained a university entrance qualification which entitles you to study at a German University*

If you meet all of the requirements above you can enter the application procedure which consists of three stages.

1. Application by electronic form and e-mail by 31st January 2021

Please apply by the electronic application form provided below by 31st January 2021 to state your personal and your academic or professional information first.

In order for you to be admitted we need you to send us the following documents by e-mail. Please attach the individual documents (pdf format) with the document's content and your last name in the title (e.g.: "your last name"_passport) and send it to summerschool@jura.uni-wuerzburg.de. All the documents must be written in Latin lettering.

  • Scan of the completed and signed application form for a module course of study
  • Scan of your valid ID or passport
  • Scan of all your school certificates which entitle you to be admitted to a German university, including subjects and grades*
  • Scan of your Higher Education Entrance Examination, if required in your home country
  • Scan of Enrolment certificate of your home University
  • CV covering everything up to the date of application in English or German
  • your bank details, including both your account number and bank code for the payment of the scholarship (your bank details will not be used for any other purposes and will be deleted after the transferal is completed)

2. Selection process and checking of documents

After 31st January 2021 all applications will be evaluated and checked for completeness. You will be notified about the result of your application by e-mail around the end of March 2021.

The consent may be revoked at any given point in time. Other personal data provided by you before and during these Summer Studies will be deleted after the Summer Studies and the administration it entails has been completed.
