The Law Faculty of Würzburg, Germany welcomes law students from all over the European Union. Supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) the participants are invited to expand on their knowledge of European law.
The Summer School will take place from Monday, 2nd to Friday, 6th September 2019 at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg, Germany.
As one of the international group of participants you will attend lectures on European law. They will be held in English. Subjects will include:
- The European and German political system
- Recent developments in European law
- European intellectual property law
- European private international law
- European data protection law
- European procurement law
- European company law
- European criminal law
You will also attend workshops on the specific areas of European law listed above. In these workshops you will discuss the approach towards the topic in your country with your fellow students. Participants will be awarded with at least 2 ECTS points.

Scholarship provided by the DAAD
The Summer School is kindly supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Participants from universities within the European Union will receive reimbursement in accordance with the following list.
After having been accepted as a participant (see "Application procedure") please go to the information provided by the city of Würzburg (hotels or hostels) in order to organize your accomodation.
The application procedure consists of two stages:
1. Electronic application by 1. April 2019
In order to apply to the Summer School you must fulfill the following requirements:
- You are a law student of a University within the European Union.
- You have already completed at least four semesters (= two years) of your studies by September 2019.
- You have no difficulties in following lectures in the English language.
- You have preexisting knowledge of and/or experience in European law.
- You state your motivation for taking part in the Summer School (motivation letter, see application form).
Applications must be submitted through the electronic application form provided below by 1. April 2019. Later applications and applications by e-mail or other means of communication will not be admitted.
2. Selection process (2-3 weeks)
After 1. April 2019 all applications will be evaluated. Since the Summer School is supported financially by the DAAD there can only be a limited amount of scholarships and participants. You will be notified about the result of your application by e-mail until mid April 2019.
