Johannes Härtlein

Dr Johannes Härtlein began studying law at the University of Würzburg in 2018. He specialised in criminal sciences. In July 2023, he passed the First State Examination in Law. Since November 2023, he has been a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr Dr Eric Hilgendorf.

His research interests lie in particular in the general regulation of artificial intelligence and the criminal law assessment of generative AI systems. Together with Prof. Dr Dr Hilgendorf, he is publishing a legal commentary on the European AI Regulation.

In addition, Johannes Härtlein heads the Legal Tech Centre at the Faculty of Law, University of Würzburg, which addresses issues relating to the digitalisation of legal processes and technologies within the legal system.
