Law in practice
“Law in Practice” brings practicing lawyers to the university. They talk to students about their professional lives and provide insight into their everyday legal work, their areas of expertise, their careers, etc. The series of events was launched to highlight the diverse and exciting fields of work open to lawyers.
The program consists of one lecture per week during the lecture period and workshops during the lecture-free period. The workshops take place outside the university and thus offer an insight into practical work on site, for example in a courtroom or a law firm.
Praktikumsbescheinigung
Since students often lack sufficient knowledge in the first semesters to complete a meaningful internship, and since time is limited in the higher semesters during the lecture-free period due to their major studies and exam preparation, we also offer students “Law in Practice” as an alternative to a regular internship. Participants can receive certification for one month of internship in all areas.
The internship can be credited as a one-month internship (§ 25 JAPO) if a total of 20 lectures have been attended and one workshop has been completed. Once you have attended all events (lectures and workshop), you can apply for your certificate of participation using the contact form.
