Please ensure that you meet the following admission requirements:
1. Educational background | | | - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Science with at least 210 ECTS credits at the University of Würzburg, a First State Examination in Law or a degree in a comparable course of study at another domestic or foreign higher education institution (e.g. university, university of applied sciences or university of cooperative education) or an equal domestic or foreign qualification
or - You have a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Science with at least 180 ECTS credits at the University of Würzburg or at another domestic or foreign higher education institution or an equal domestic or foreign qualification and practical work competences of at least 30 ECTS credits, proven by qualified practical work experience of at least one year and accepted by the programs Audit Committee (for more details see also Nr. 5 and 6 of the FAQs)
- If the degree is a non-law degree, you must prove competences with at least 15 ECTS credits (see also Nr. 7 of the FAQs) in one or several of the following areas:
i) Basic knowledge in the field of civil law ii) Basic knowledge in the field of criminal law iii) Basic knowledge in the field of public law |
2. Practical work experience | | | - You have qualified practical work experience for at least one year after completion of the Bachelor's degree
- Proved by a document issued by the employer which contains at least:
- name of the position - description of tasks and responsibilities - start and end date of the employment - employer's seal or signature f.e. employer's letter of reference or employment contract plus proof of actual duration of employment - If 30 ECTS credits need to be accredited by professional work experience, the document must contain detailled description of your (especially legal-related) tasks
- If a document issued by the employer can't be submitted due to self-employment, it is okay to submit a self-disclosure with the same contents in addition to a proof of the self-employment (f.e. certificate by the Bar Association, entry in the Commercial Register or official web page)

3. English language requirements | | | - You must prove your proficiency in English at least on level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please submit the results of a qualified test e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, Duolingo English Test certificates.
- An English language test is not necessary, if one of the following exceptions applies to you:
- You hold a passport from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America. - You have studied and completed your entire Bachelor's or Master's program in English - In all other cases the English language test is compulsory. |
4. APS certificate | | | - Only for applicants with diplomas issued in the Republic of India, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam or the People's Republic of China
