AI and Robot Law Research Centre
The AI and Robot Law Research Centre was founded in 2010 at the Faculty of Law at the University of Würzburg under Prof. Dr Dr Eric Hilgendorf. It deals with legal issues relating to autonomous systems such as self-driving cars, robots and AI software.
The Juristen ALUMNI Würzburg e.V. connects former and current faculty members, promotes exchange as well as teaching and research and is committed to improving study conditions. The result is a lively network that strengthens the dialogue between the generations and cultivates a lasting bond with the Würzburg Faculty of Law.
The Legal Tech Centre of the Faculty of Law teaches digital skills for law studies. It offers practical courses on research, word processing and literature management and supports students in the use of university software.
On 7 May 2026, experts from academia and practice will discuss criminal responsibility in the digital age at the Alte Universität. The programme includes questions on the future of justice, AI regulation and legal data science - including a keynote speech by the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice on a current draft law against criminal digital content.
At the "Würzburg Cellar Talk", Prof. Martin Andree, Prof. Markus Oermann and Ivo Knahn will discuss how Google, Meta & Co. are shaping our democracy - on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, at 7 pm in the Max Stern Cellar of the Old University of Würzburg. Admission free.
