Prof. Hilgendorf will participate in the lecture series "Automated Systems" at Leibniz Universität Hannover on May 24, 2022 at 5 p.m. and give a lecture entitled "Infinite Space - Science Fiction, Technology Design and Law".

The Chair of Civil Law, European and International Business Law (Prof. Dr. Buck-Heeb), the Chair of German, European and International Civil and Commercial Law (Prof. Dr. Oppermann) and the Interdisciplinary Institute for Automated Systems e.V. (RifaS) invite you to the next event of the joint lecture series "Automated Systems" on May 24, 2022 at 5:00 pm s.t.. This time Prof. Dr. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf could be acquired as a speaker.

About the lecture
According to common understanding, imagination does not necessarily belong to the "law-typical" characteristics. This profession-typical restraint also applies to the engagement with non-legal literature. However, current problems of regulation, from the question of rights for AI and technology-based totalitarian temptations to problems of gender fluidity, especially in SF literature, are addressed in a sometimes quite sophisticated way. In the lecture, the aim is to campaign for more acceptance of the possibility of broadening horizons that this implies.
