ASCOLA concert

World premiere at the 19th ASCOLA Conference 2024: The First ASCOLA Concert

The presentations at the ASCOLA conference are traditionally known to be close to genuine poetry. However, at this year’s conference, ASCOLA members’ creative talent will come even more to fruition as we will be organising the First ASCOLA Concert on Friday, 5th July 2023, in one of Würzburg's most beautiful concert halls, the Residence's "Toscana-Saal" with its marvellous Steinway grand piano.

We would therefore like to invite all our members to actively participate in the program. Solo contributions are possible, however you are also welcome to perform as a duo, trio or in a larger ensemble. If you need an accompanist on the piano, we are happy to help (Florian Bien for "classical" music, Björn Christian Becker for jazz, pop, rock etc.).

In addition, the core line-up of our ASCOLA Band has already been formed and is happy to accompany singers or instrumentalists on their favourite songs:

Guitar: David Bosco (Aix-Marseille)

Drums: Toker Doganoglu (Würzburg)

Double and electric bass: Julius Bien (Würzburg)

Piano: Björn Christian Becker (Würzburg)

There will be time for short rehearsals between the conference programme. We will be happy to provide rooms for this purpose. Also, we will gladly try to find a rental instrument if required. Please do not hesitate to contact us in this regard!

Please send your proposed contributions by 1 May 2024 to

ascola@uni-wuerzburg.de
